When Liverpool can be crowned & Leicester should be relegated

Imagen del artículo:When Liverpool can be crowned & Leicester should be relegated

Two domestic football seasons could not be much more contrasting than that of Liverpool and Leicester City this year. The two are often at opposite ends of the Premier League table. That is apart from not too long ago when the Foxes won the English top flight title and consequently enjoyed a few campaigns in Europe. However, that era is definitely bygone for the Foxes now. Of course, the Reds are currently enjoying a successful seeming spell under brand new management.

Though the opposing outfits meet at King Power Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Only already-relegated Southampton separate this from being a top versus bottom EPL clash, although the match certainly feels that way regardless. Google's probability predictor only gives the home side a pitiful seven per cent chance of victory; the visitors have an 80% win possibility rate. If the Merseyside team are victorious and the east Midlanders lose, will the former be named title-winners? And will that also consequently mean City are down?

When Leicester's demotion back down to the Championship can be confirmed, and when Liverpool may be crowned champions

The dissimilarity between new beginnings at Anfield and on Filbert Way is drastic. For Reds supporters, the only way is up. Yet Foxes fans simply look down at the moment, figuratively and literally.

With the Saints long gone, City and Ipswich Town are merely awaiting the same banishment. Now is the time for these three respective fan bases to look ahead in hope that their youth setups are promising. Leicester's academy and Under-21s are getting a lot of positive attention at present.

But when will the Foxes' fate be sealed? If West Ham United beat Southampton, Leicester shall be relegated.

The same ending is confirmed should LCFC fail to defeat LFC. Meanwhile these are Liverpool's permutations:

"If Arsenal lose away at Ipswich Town and then Arne Slot's side follow that up with victory over Leicester City a few hours later, Liverpool's points haul of 79 would be unassailable with five games left.In the case that the Gunners win their next two league matches (they meet Crystal Palace on April 23) and the Reds beat Leicester, Slot's men can be confirmed as Premier League champions by defeating Tottenham Hotspur at home on Sunday April 27"
