Alex Iwobi has called Bukayo Saka the “nicest guy you’ll ever meet”, picking the winger as the former Arsenal academy player with the highest ceiling.

In a recent appearance on Sky Sports, former Gunner Alex Iwobi was asked to pick the Arsenal academy player with the highest ceiling from Bukayo Saka, Jack Wilshere, Emile Smith Rowe, and Ethan Nwaneri.

Whilst Iwobi had praise for all four players, he ultimately opted for Bukayo, showering his former teammate with praise.

“He’s so humble,” Iwobi said. “Nicest guy you’ll ever meet. You wouldn’t even think he’s a starboy, he’s just so chill.

“What I heard at the Emirates the other day (for Saka’s comeback game) was insane.”

Despite both players coming through Arsenal’s academy system and playing plenty of games for the senior side, Iwobi and Saka have technically never shared a pitch for the same team.

The two players did play for Arsenal in the same game on two occasions, against Fulham in a Premier League match on January 1st, 2019, and against Blackpool in an FA Cup fixture four days later.

But in both cases, Saka was substituted on for Iwobi. They never played together.

Even so, the two players were playing for the same club for a while, training together on a daily basis, and they’ve since faced off against each other on 10 different occasions as opponents.

There have been plenty of opportunities to interact despite their lack of minutes together for Arsenal, and it seems they get on well.
