Crysencio Summerville has finally undergone surgery on his hamstring injury, however the delay has had a terrible impact.
The former Leeds winger injured his hamstring back in January, which was during Graham Potters first game in change against Aston Villa, with it initially felt it would be a matter of a few weeks out.
The Dutchman though has not been seen since, having reoccurred the injury during a light training session during his recovery, which the clubs medical team and doctors advising that an operation was required to solve the issue.
Summerville though decided against the advice, much to the anger of the club, with the player opting to recover ‘naturally’, with sources advising that it was clear he was putting himself at risk.
It’s now been reported, almost 4 months on from the injury, that Summerville waived the white flag and accepted surgery was needed – however, this has come at a huge price for West Ham,
Not only has Summerville missed a huge chunk of this season due to his decision making, but the call by the player now means he will miss the entire pre-season and likely the opening games of the 2025/26 campaign, much to the fury of everyone at the club.
The decision puts into question the players commitment, with it understood that the whole recovery process has now been delayed by 3-4 months.
