Jason Tindall Aston Villa press conference – 18 April 2025:
“It’s going to be an incredibly tough game, we know that.
“They’ve only lost once at home this season so we know what what type of challenge we’ll be facing.
“They’re trying to achieve the same goal we are.
“It’ll be two teams going out there to try and win the game.”
Jason Tindall on team selection:
“When you’re in good form and winning games it becomes difficult to change your team unless you feel players aren’t performing and I don’t think anyone can say that because the players are collectively and individually delivering excellent performances.
In some senses the team does pick itself but we’ve got a fantastic squad and everyone’s played their part this season.
“Everybody is going to need to play their part in the remaining six games.”
Jason Tindall on thrashing Crystal Palace 5-0:
“Really pleased with the performance.
“The most important thing was that we showed consistency and backed up the performance we put in against Manchester United.
“I was absolutely delighted.”
Jason Tindall on Jacob Murphy:
“Full credit to Jacob.
“He’s been at the football club a long time and I’m sure if he was someone we signed at the start of the season or January from somewhere then he would be receiving more plaudits than he is.
“His performances certainly don’t surprise myself or the manager.
“He works extremely hard on a day-to-day basis.
“He takes everything in tactically and week in, week out we know we can rely on him.”
Jason Tindall on Harvey Barnes:
“Testament to all the players who weren’t starting games for a period.
“They come in and deliver performances but you can only do that if you’ve got the right attitude in your work day in day out and is consistent, you’re mentally strong and deal with frustrations in the right way.
Certainly Harvey has done that since he’s come into the team.
“He’s delivered excellent performances individually, but team performances as well.”
Jason Tindall on Sandro Tonali:
“There is still more to come.
“There has been huge growth in him as a player.
“With the demands we set for players, always room for improvement.
“He has delivered some fantastic performances.”
Jason Tindall asked about Eddie Howe:
“There is no fresh update since Wednesday’s game.
“He is recovering and as soon as there are any more updates, the fans and media will be the first to know.”
Jason Tindall asked about the reaction of Anthony Gordon to having to wait his chance to get back into the team:
“Anthony has played the game long enough to understand [what happens when] a team is playing very well.
“Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy are performing really well.
“As a player [currently out of the team], you would always expect to be a good teammate and continue to work hard every day, so when your chance does come, you can deliver the performances.
“That is what the players have been doing so far.”
