Saudi Pro League sides have joined Premier League teams in enquiring into the conditions of a deal to sign Kim Min-jae from Bayern Munich this summer.

Bayern are prepared to listen to offers for the South Korea centre-back, while Min-jae is also open to leaving the Bundesliga leaders should a suitable offer arrive.

The 28-year-old has made 41 appearances in all competitions for Bayern this season but is not considered ‘untouchable’ as the German giants look to raise transfer funds.

Chelsea and Newcastle make contact with Min-jae camp

Chelsea and Newcastle United are understood to have made contact with Min-jae’s camp over a potential move to the Premier League. However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the duo will face competition from Juventus and the Saudi Pro League.

Min-jae signed for Bayern in a €50m deal in 2023, in a transfer that made the defender the most expensive Asian footballer of all time. It capped a remarkable rise for Min-jae, who played his football with Beijing Guoan until 2021.

Single season spells at Fenerbahce and Napoli followed, with the defender a huge hit with the latter. He was named Serie A Defender of the Year in 2022/23 as Napoli won a drought-breaking league title. Their title success was the club’s first Scudetto in 33 years.

Bayern are open to proposals for the player as the Bavarians aim to raise funds for the club’s pursuit of Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz, who has a €125m release clause. Kingsley Coman, who has been linked with Arsenal, is another expected exit at the Allianz Arena.
