Serie A side Inter are plotting a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.
According to a report by Filippo Conticello of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are observing the situation regarding PSG’s Gigio Donnarumma’s contract renewal and will attempt a transfer this summer. The Italian goalkeeper’s contract with Les Parisiens ends in 2026 and there have been no talks of renewing it between the club and the player.
“A certain San Siro fan base would like me here…? I’m very pleased, I’m happy. These are situations that will be seen later. In the meantime, I’m happy to be back,” – these were Donnarumma’s words after Italy’s 2-1 defeat to Germany in the first leg of the Nations League quarter-finals. This interview made it clear that the 26-year-old is aware of Inter’s interest and that he might return to Serie A.
The Nerazzurri will soon be searching for a new goalkeeper and Donnarumma is one of the best options on the market. However, his salary of around €12 million including fixed and variables poses a problem for Inter as they are not in a financial position to cover those.
