Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani could be on the move again this summer with Premier League duo Aston Villa and Newcastle United hot on his trail, journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports.
His future has been a hot topic in Italy since his explosive start to life as a Bianconeri, but a managerial change may have derailed initial plans to keep him permanently.
He notched five goals and an assist in his first four Serie A games, leading many people to believe he had recaptured his form of old.
However, his influence has waned in recent games, and manager Thiago Motta’s departure has also hurt his chances of finding a permanent home in Turin.
Juventus called on former Olympique Marseille and Lazio manager Igor Tudor to step in temporarily, and his first order of business was to drop Kolo Muani in favour of the misfiring Dusan Vlahovic.
That decision has cast doubt over Kolo Muani’s place in the squad.
Although Juventus appreciates the Frenchman’s short-term contributions, his profile no longer fits the new tactical direction.
The Serie A giants have already informed PSG of their decision, leaving the French champions to find another landing spot for their redundant striker.
However, they may not have to look too far, with Kolo Muani attracting interest from the Premier League.
Newcastle and Villa are among the clubs monitoring his situation closely.
Both clubs want attacking reinforcements ahead of next season and are willing to take a punt on Kolo Muani despite his fall from grace since leaving Eintracht Frankfurt.
He believes he can thrive in the English top flight, so his decision could come down to which club can offer Champions League football next season.
Villa and Newcastle are locked in a thrilling battle for Champions League football in the Premier League.
They’d also have to match PSG’s valuation, with the French champions demanding £43 million plus potential performance-related bonuses for Kolo Muani.
