A rather interesting story has emerged from Serbia regarding the on-loan AC Milan striker Marko Lazetic, who has got himself embroiled in a saga.

Lazetic joined Milan from Red Star Belgrade in January 2022 for €4.5m and the hope was that he would not take too long to come through and offer help to the first team. Loan spells to SCR Altach in Austria and Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands followed, but he failed to impress in either.

Last June, Lazetic has secured a new loan move away from the club, this time heading back to Serbia to join Backa Topola. Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo stated on X that Backa Taopolo do have an option to make the deal for Lazetic permanent at the end of the season for €3m.

However, as Kurir in Serbia (via MilanPress) state, Lazetic become the subject of a negative outcry for some rude gestures towards the fans during a Serbian Cup match against Partizan Belgrade, the big rivals of his old club Red Star. They also carry the words of the TSC president.

“The club will severely punish Marko Lazetić and Viktor Radojević! Their behaviour is unacceptable. On the one hand, I feel like defending them, because they are both young, practically children. There were provocations, but they should not react like that,” he said.

“That is why we decided to punish them, so that such stupid things do not happen again. Everything came from the stands, it was very bad, but they should not react. This is not the way to behave. It will not happen again.”
