There’s bad news on the injury front for Toulouse FC. As a result of complications to his Achilles tendon, Rasmus Nicolaisen (27) may not return to the team before the summer.
“We want him to come back when he is mentally and physically ready to perform with the team,” head coach Carles Martinez Novell said on Friday prior to their visit to fac RC Strasbourg Alsace. Le TéFéCé lost the game 2-1.
The Danish centre-back has barely played in the past few months after initially injuring his ankle in an October Ligue 1 fixture against Lille OSC.
He made a brief appearance in February in the Coupe de France, playing a half hour against EA Guingamp, before experiencing discomfort. Les Violets wound up losing that round-of-16 clash 2-0.
Nicolaisen is one of a handful of injury concerns for this club right now, with Joshua King (33), Cristian Casseres (25) and Zakaria Aboukhlal (25) all sidelined because of knocks.
Toulouse are undefeated away from home this year, winning their last two league fixtures as the visitors by a combined margin of 8-1.
