The powers that be at La Liga high-flyers Girona are inching towards an agreement on the terms of a contract renewal with a key member of the club’s squad.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Arnau Martínez as being close to extending his commitment to the Catalan outfit.
The 20-year-old, for his part, has played an important role for Girona across the season to date, notching starts in just shy of half of the club’s outings en route to a spot in 2nd in the Spanish top-flight.
Widely considered to be a potential star in the making across the Spanish football landscape, the Estadi Montilivi brass, in turn, have long kicked into gear negotiations with Arnau’s entourage, over a contract extension.
This comes ahead of the expiration of his current terms in the summer of 2025.
And, as per the aforementioned MD, citing Ser, such talks look set to be bear imminent fruit.
The Blanquivermells youth product will imminently put pen to paper on a new deal with the club, expected to run for an additional two years.
Alongside an increase in salary, the terms of the agreement are expected to see Arnau’s release clause drop from its current €20 million, to closer to €15 million.
