Wolves forward Leonardo Campana has returned from Grasshopper Club Zurich and joined Inter Miami on loan until the end of 2022.
The Ecuador international, 21, had been with the Swiss Super League side since July and scored three times in 15 appearances, with all his goals coming in August.
Campana joined Wolves from Barcelona SC in 2020 and, although he is yet to make his old gold debut, the switch to the US will be the forward's third loan move, as he continues to gain experience and develop.
When explaining the thinking behind the switch, Wolves' strategic player marketing manager, Matt Jackson, told the club's website: “More game time and a very progressive environment. Leo's from South America and will be entering a culture where developing young players is very prevalent. Miami have South America connections as well, so it's a brilliant fit, and the player wants to go to prove himself.
“We've got a mix of players over there assisting Grasshoppers, and it's been an excellent place for Leo to learn football lessons early on, competing with Leo Bonatini for the forward position, and he's developed as a player there.
“Now, this is a great way for him to improve more. Sometimes it's a different environment players can be more comfortable in, and he is very ambitious. He's a great character, I met him earlier in the season, he's a driven individual who wants to be a good as he can, like most young players, and we think it's a very good platform for him."
