Andreas Christensen has resumed full training with the rest of the FC Barcelona squad after having recovered from his Achilles tendinopathy issue which required him to undergo surgery.

Having been out of action since late August, the Danish centre-back is all set to be available at manager Hansi Flick’s disposal in the new year.

However, there has been some uncertainty over Christensen’s future heading into 2025 due to the Blaugrana’s pursuit of Jonathan Tah.

It has been suggested that the former Chelsea man could be one of the players who could be moved on next summer to free up space for the German. But it appears that Christensen is attracting suitors for January itself.

Juventus, Manchester United eyeing Christensen

Indeed, according to reports in Italy, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo, both Manchester United and, more notably, Juventus have shown serious interest in securing Christensen’s services, potentially as early as January.

Juve, in particular, see the Barcelona defender as a key target for the winter and are weighing up a loan move for him in light of long-term injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal.

The Bianconeri manager, Thiago Motta, is keen on strengthening his defence and is reportedly interested in signing either Christensen or his Barcelona teammate Ronald Araujo.

However, the Catalans have made it clear that Araujo is not available, despite his contract expiring in 2026, just like Christensen’s.

Christensen not thinking about an exit

Despite the never-ending speculations around his future, Christensen has made it abundantly clear that he is not thinking about leaving Barcelona and sees himself at the club next season as well.

Addressing the rumours in an interview last month, the Danish international said: “You can’t do anything but smile when you hear about it.

“I can only talk about the conversations I have had with the club and so far they have only told me to recover well and that they are looking forward to my return.”

“If I will stay at Barcelona? Yes, of course,” added Christensen.
