Aberdeen have confirmed that Hampden will use digital tickets for their forthcoming Scottish Cup Semi Final against Hearts. The Dons, who were beaten at this stage in the Premier Sports League Cup by Celtic, will face the Tynecastle outfit for a place in the showpiece final in May.
In an update on their website, Aberdeen confirmed that the SFA would be going digital with tickets being issued, which surely means that the sale will happen for Celtic’s game against St Johnstone.
“Please note, all tickets will be in digital format for this match through the Hampden Park App. – Purchase your tickets through AFC. – Download the Hampden Park App. – Tickets will show on the App from early April & then be live from 7-10 days before the game – You can have multiple tickets against your account.”
The update from Aberdeen gives a helpful indication of a few of the initial concerns that supporters will have regarding the modern approach to ticketing. However, it remains to be seen what it will mean for supporters buses.
Celtic supporters will be keen to hear the ticketing update from the club as attention switches towards the Scottish Cup. Brendan Rodgers’ side are a few games away from beating their own record of Trebles and supporters will want to see it. The club will likely communicate ticketing news, such as allocations, shortly.
