Liverpool host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday with the Reds on the brink of the Premier League title.
Arne Slot’s side will be crowned Premier League champions if the home side avoid defeat at Anfield. Liverpool are within touching distance of a record-equalling 20th top-flight title and the first to be celebrated with fans inside the stadium since 1990.
Tottenham arrive on Merseyside in the midst of a torrid league campaign. The North Londoners are 16th in the table and have lost 10 of their 16 away games this season. Ange Postecoglou’s side are also likely to have one eye on Europe. Spurs face Bodo/Glimt in their Europa League semi-final first leg on Thursday night.
Trent Alexander-Arnold returned from injury to score the winner as a substitute against Leicester City. The right-back had missed the previous four games but should be reinstated to the starting side against Spurs.
Liverpool have a near clean bill of health. Joe Gomez remains out with a hamstring injury, while Tyler Morton is still nursing a shoulder issue. Neither would be expected to make the first XI.
Speaking at Friday’s pre-match press conference, Slot dismissed reports that Darwin Nunez’s continued absence was due to a contract clause. Reports in Portugal have claimed Liverpool will owe Benfica another €5m the next time Nunez starts. The Uruguay forward, who is expected to leave in the summer, has not started a game since February.
Liverpool predicted XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz.
Liverpool host Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Sunday 27th April 2025. Kick-off at Anfield is 16:30 BST.
The match will be shown on Sky Sports Main Event and Premier League in the UK.
